Librarian Certification Guide for the state of Arizona

Certification is only required for librarians who wish to work within Arizona’s school systems. However, the American Library Association (ALA) sponsored the Library Support Staff Certification for library staff who do not hold an advanced degree in library science. Additionally, if you wish to become an employed librarian in the state of Arizona, while you may not be required to become certified, a masters degree in Library and Information Sciences will most likely be a mandatory requirement to be considered for any librarian position.
